Unpacking Reflective Practice in the Praxis of English Language Teaching in Indonesia

This paper portrays the ways Indonesian English Language Teaching (ELT) practitioners review and reflect on their practice, seek to expand new ideas techniques they can apply in classrooms. study aims enhance our understanding of what it is actually that ELT are doing, understanding, trying achieve classroom activities. investigates explanative answers a single research question: In reflective practice? conducted at secondary schools universities uses qualitative approach, utilizing observation, interviews, documents as data collection methods, content analysis means analysis. involved four participants selected purposively voluntarily. Its findings, analysis, interpretation presented descriptively. The major finding this suggests three ways: being within process teaching, known “reflection-in-action, post-teaching referred “reflection-on-action, ” future improvement planning “reflection-for-action.” practitioners’ reflexivity improve quality which potentially affect students’ learning. Thus, arguably have performed praxis language teaching through practice.
